ASTON, Pa.- The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) released their Winter/Spring 2013-14 Team Academic Awards given to the team with the highest GPA in their sport amongst member institutions, and the Immaculata baseball, women's lacrosse, and men's tennis teams each earned the recognition from the conference office.
Immaculata had the most team academic awards for the 2013-14 academic year amongst CSAC schools as the baseball, women's lacrosse, and men's tennis teams joined the women's soccer and field hockey teams, who each earned the distinction for the fall semester.
The baseball team had a cumulative team GPA of 3.11 for the Spring 2014 semester, the highest amongst the seven schools in the CSAC.
The women's lacrosse team topped the CSAC with a cumulative team GPA of 3.51, better than the other eight conference institutions.
Finally, men's tennis topped the list for participating institutions with a 3.45 for the Spring 2014 semester.
Established prior to the start of the 2013-14 academic year, the CSAC Team Academic Award is given annually to each sport's team whose student-athletes, while competing in conference-sponsored sports, achieve the highest combined grade point average. Grade point average calculations correspond with the student-athletes' season of participation during the sport's traditional season. The 2014 Spring Team Academic Awards are based on each team's combined GPA from the Spring 2014 semester only.
