IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University unveiled its 2013 volleyball schedule on Friday. The schedule features 26 matches, including seven home matches, as well as the Mighty Macs taking part in three tri-matches and one tournament.
Immaculata embarks on the 2013 season participating in a tri-match hosted by Penn State Abington on Sat., Aug. 31. IU will also face McDaniel in the other match on opening day.
The Mighty Macs play three more road matches before opening the home slate. Immaculata travels to Misericordia on Wed., Sept. 4, and Arcadia on Sat., Sept. 7. Immaculata finishes the opening road stretch on Tue., Sept. 10, at Penn State Berks.
The Mighty Macs play their first match at Alumnae Hall on Thu., Sept. 12, when Albright comes into town.
Immaculata then competes in its second tri-match of the season on Sat., Sept. 14. The Mighty Macs head to Rowan to face the host Profs while also taking on the Shorewomen of Washington College.
The Mighty Macs will be back home for a match on Thu., Sept. 19, against Bryn Mawr before heading back out on the road.
Immaculata plays its final tri-match of the season that weekend, Sat., Sept. 21, at Alvernia. Immaculata will also play opposite Delaware Valley that Saturday.
The Mighty Macs get one more tune-up before Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Tue., Sept. 24, when they travel to Ursinus.
The CSAC portion of the schedule begins on Thu., Sept. 26, when Immaculata travels to Cabrini. The Mighty Macs then close out the month of September hosting 2012 CSAC champion Neumann on Sat., Sept. 28. Immaculata will play 10-straight CSAC matches before getting a break for a non-conference tournament at the end of October.
Immaculata will play back-to-back at home for the only time this season when it follows its Neumann match with a home match on Wed., Oct. 2, hosting Rosemont.
Following a road match at Cairn on Sat., Oct. 5, the Mighty Macs return to Alumnae Hall on Tue., Oct. 8, to play Centenary.
The Mighty Macs then head away for two CSAC matches against Notre Dame (Thu., Oct. 10) and Baptist Bible (Sat., Oct. 12).
Immaculata rounds down the CSAC stretch with two of the last three matches of the 10-match string at home. Immaculata hosts Marywood on Wed., Oct. 16, before traveling to Keystone on Fri., Oct. 18. The Mighty Macs then close out the 2013 home schedule with a match against Cedar Crest on Thu., Oct. 24, which will mark Senior Day.
Immaculata plays in its only tournament of the season on Sat., Oct. 26, when it takes part in the New Jersey City University Invitational. The Mighty Macs will play three matches that day against host NJCU, SUNYIT and Mount Saint Mary.
Immaculata ends both the regular-season and conference slate on Wed., Oct. 30, at Gwynedd-Mercy.
The six-team 2013 CSAC Tournament begins with two quarterfinal matches at the campus sites of the third- and fourth-seeded teams on Tue., Nov. 5, while the No. 1 and 2 seeds will host the semifinals on Thu., Nov. 7. The championship match will be played on Sat., Nov. 9.
