Golf and Women’s Lacrosse Receive CSAC 3-D Award

ASTON, Pa. – The Immaculata University golf team and women's lacrosse team have won the Colonial States Athletic Conference's 3-D Award, as announced today by the league office. The 3-D Award recognizes a team from each sport that best exemplifies the NCAA Division III principles of “Discover, Develop, Dedicate.”

The 3-D Award was developed by members of the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) prior to the 2011-12 academic year. Conference teams evaluate each other following each conference game based on the three aforementioned Division II principles, giving a rating of 1-10 in each category.

The Mighty Macs won their first CSAC championship in golf this season and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship for the first time in program history. The women's lacrosse team had a record-setting 2013 season in which the Mighty Macs qualified for the CSAC Tournament as the fourth seed, and advanced to the conference semifinals for the first time in program history.

In the two years that the 3-D Award has been handed out, the Mighty Macs have won four 3-D Awards as men's cross country and women's basketball won the award during 2011-12.
