RADNOR, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team (11-7, 5-3 CSAC) went to Cabrini (10-7, 8-0 CSAC) for their first CSAC semifinals appearance in program history, but the Cavaliers turned a 4-2 game into a 15-4 halftime advantage on their way to a 21-8 victory. The loss ends a record-setting 2013 season for the Mighty Macs where they set a new team high for wins (11), CSAC wins (5), and picked up their first postseason victory in their first home playoff game.
"The team set out this season to change the culture of the program. They pushed each other harder in practice and the seniors led by example all year long. We were able to get back to the playoffs and get a home game which was a big step in the progress of our program. This team is headed in the right direction."
Sophomore
Danielle Lopez (team-high 9 GBs, 5 DCs) led the Mighty Macs in this afternoon's game with three goals and one assist. Freshman
Shannon Neill had two goals and one assist for three points, which gave her 70 for the season, second best in a single season in Immaculata history. Her 27 assists this season are also a new team-record.

Caitlin Caruso each scored a goal for the Mighty Macs in their season finale.

Kelly Lapp and junior Amanda Grahn each chipped in with one assist each.
Senior
Anne Moulton had three groundballs to add to her career-high total in the final game of her Mighty Mac career.
Cabrini scored the first four goals of the game to put the Mighty Macs in a hole just nine minutes into the game, but following a timeout, Immaculata started to come back.
Jakavick scored on an assist from Neill, and Hill scored on a pass from Lapp to make it 4-2 just a minute later. However, that's the closest Immaculata would get the rest of the game.
Cabrini scored the next five goals to make it 9-2 with 10:17 to go. Lopez took the next draw and scored thirteen seconds later to stop the Cavalier run. The sophomore would score again before the end of the half, but Cabrini would score six of the final seven to take a commanding 15-4 advantage into halftime.
Neill would score on an assist from Grahn with 26 minutes left in the game, but no goals were scored otherwise for the first 13 minutes as the Mighty Macs were unable to cut further into the lead.
The Cavaliers scored the next three goals to make it 18-5 with just over 16 minutes to go.
Lopez, Caruso, and Neill would add one more goal around three Cabrini goals to get to the final of 21-8.
The Mighty Macs set several new team records this season statistically. They scored the most goals (265), had the most assists (135), most points (400), groundballs (458), draw controls (244), and caused turnovers (214).
