CSAC RELEASE

ASTON, Pa.
- A record-setting season by the Immaculata men's tennis team was recognized by the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) on Thursday morning as every player earned All-CSAC recognition.  Sophomore Troy Donato became the first Immaculata men's tennis player to be named CSAC Player of the Year as he was a cornerstone of a team that went 10-4 overall with a 6-1 CSAC record, and earned the number two seed in this weekend's CSAC Championships.

Along with Donato, senior T.J. Klinger earned First Team All-CSAC for his undefeated conference season out of the number five singles position.  Seniors Eric Schmidt and Todd Stokley each earned Second Team All-CSAC honors in singles, while freshman newcomer Nicholas Coia earned Honorable Mention All-CSAC for his singles season.

In doubles, all three pairings earned All-CSAC recognition.  Stokley and Schmidt were named to the Second Team All-CSAC, while Donato and Coia along with Klinger and senior Joe Walker each earned Honorable Mention All-CSAC.

Lastly, sophomore Will DeSantis was named to the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Donato has been named the 2013 CSAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year, the first in Immaculata history.   The sophomore went 6-1 in singles play against conference foes at the number-one flight, while he went 11-3 overall.  Donato was pivotal in several matches as he anchored the Mighty Macs during their record-setting campaign.

Klinger played out of the number five position for singles all season and put together a 12-2 campaign, including a perfect 7-0 in CSAC play.  His points against Neumann and Baptist Bible were crucial to sealing both of those victories and getting the second seed in the upcoming playoffs.  His twelve wins are the most in a single season by an Immaculata men's tennis player.

For second team singles, Stokley and Schmidt both put together excellent final seasons.  Stokley went 11-2 out of the number six position and had a 6-1 CSAC record, with his only loss coming to Marywood.  Schmidt went 7-6 overall with a 4-2 conference mark as a steady player in the third singles position.

For honorable mention singles, Coia had a strong rookie campaign in the fourth position for the Mighty Macs.  He went 9-5 overall and 5-2 in CSAC play.  His come from behind victory against Neumann helped the team clinch the second seed with a victory.

For doubles, Schmidt and Stokley made the second team due to a 5-2 CSAC record and 8-6 record overall.  They were the top doubles duo on the team in the third position in conference play.

Coia and Donato take home Honorable Mention All-CSAC out of the first position with a 4-3 record in CSAC play and 8-6 overall.  Walker and Klinger took home the same honors playing out of the second doubles position with an equal 4-3 CSAC record and team-best 9-5 overall.

DeSantis was 1-0 in his only match this season on his way to the CSAC All-Sportsmanship honors.

The men's tennis team will begin their playoff run this Friday afternoon as the number two seed when they take on Baptist Bible, the third seed, in Easton, Pennsylvania.
