RADNOR, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's lacrosse season came to a conclusion on Saturday evening as the No. 6-seed visiting Mighty Macs fell to third-seeded Cabrini, 18-10, in the quarterfinals of the Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament.
Kacie O'Neill concluded her Immaculata playing days with five goals to lead the team.
Kelly Kugler scored twice.
Lauren Bigos had one goal and one assist in her final game as a Mighty Mac, while seniors
Rebecca Whiteman and
Jessica Gaburo scored one goal apiece.
Emily Hallett registered four assists while
Alysia Remaley had one assist in her last game.
O'Neill scored for the Mighty Macs just 2:44 into the contest to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. The Cavaliers tied the game at 1-1 just 32 seconds later as Dolores Weathers scored her first goal of the game.
Bigos tallied for Immaculata at the 23:32 mark of the first half, putting Immaculata on top, 2-1. However, that would be the Mighty Macs last lead of the game as the Cavaliers rattled off nine straight goals to lead 10-2 with 4:43 left in the opening half.
Gaburo scored with 3:51 remaining but Cabrini took a 12-3 lead into halftime.
Immaculata and Cabrini traded goals during the first 13 minutes of the second half as every time the Mighty Macs found the back of the net, the Cavaliers answered with a goal of their own.
Immaculata, down 17-7 with 13:44 remaining in the game, put together a three-goal run as Kugler started it off and O'Neill tallied two goals to cut Cabrini's lead to 17-10 with 5:56 left, but it wasn't enough.

Britt Worthington stopped 16 shots, while the Cavaliers' keeper Janel Folkomer made seven saves for the win.
Gabrielle Gorbey led Cabrini with six points on four goals and two assists. Jamie O'Hanlon also added four tallies for the Cavaliers. Jacky McDermott and Weathers each finished with five points, Weathers with three goals and two assists and McDermott with two goals and three helpers.
Cabrini (7-9) advances to the conference semifinals where it will take on No. 2 seed Gwynedd-Mercy on Wednesday, May 4.
Immaculata ends the 2011 season with an overall record of 5-11.
