Immaculata Unveils 2010 Volleyball Schedule

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– The Immaculata University volleyball team unveiled its 2010 schedule on Thursday. Highlighting the schedule will be 10 home matches, including a date with 2009 CSAC champion Cabrini, as well as the Mighty Macs taking part in the Blue Jay Classic.

Immaculata opens the 2010 season with three consecutive road matches, beginning on Sept. 2 when it travels to Rowan. IU then faces Albright on Sept. 4 and Ursinus on Sept. 7.

The Mighty Macs host their first opponent of the season on Thursday, Sept. 9, when Arcadia comes calling.

Immaculata follows with a tri-match on the campus of Penn State Harrisburg on Sept. 11. The Mighty Macs begin the afternoon against Hood before taking on the host Nittany Lions.

Immaculata opens its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) schedule at home against Gwynedd-Mercy on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. The Mighty Macs continue their homestand with two non-conference matches against Bryn Mawr (Sept. 16) and Penn State Berks (Sept. 22).

In its only tournament of the season, Immaculata travels to Elizabethtown, Pa., for the Blue Jay Classic, hosted by Elizabethtown, Sept. 24-25.

Immaculata hits the road for three of its next four CSAC matches. The team travels to Neumann on Sept. 28 before returning to Alumnae Hall to host Cabrini on Thursday, Sept. 30. The Mighty Macs follow up traveling to Rosemont (Oct. 2) and Cedar Crest (Oct. 5). 

The Mighty Macs take a two-match hiatus from the league slate to conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule. Immaculata hosts Delaware Valley on Thursday, Oct. 7 before traveling to Rutgers-Camden on Saturday, Oct. 9.

The second half of CSAC play begins the following week as the Mighty Macs host Baptist Bible (Oct. 14), Philadelphia Biblical (Oct. 21) and Keystone (Oct. 23) and hit the road to face Centenary (Oct. 26).

A match with the College of Notre Dame on Oct. 28 closes out Immaculata's home schedule, and the Mighty Macs wrap up the regular season at Marywood on Oct. 30.

The six-team 2010 CSAC Tournament will begin with two quarterfinal matches at the campus sites of the third- and fourth-seeded teams on Tue., Nov. 2 while the No. 1 and 2 seeds with host the semifinals on Thu., Nov. 4. The championship match will be played on Sat., Nov. 6.
