IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women’s tennis team released its 2010 schedule on Wednesday. The Mighty Macs will play eight home matches at the IU Tennis Courts and nine contests on the road to complete the 17-match fall slate. Immaculata will play 10 Colonial States Athletic Conference matches, along with seven non-league bouts.
The Mighty Macs kick off the fall with a non-conference match against DeSales on Sept. 2. Saturday, Sept. 4, marks the first Colonial States Athletic Conference match for the Mighty Macs as they travel to Marywood.
Immaculata begins its home slate by hosting Baptist Bible on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m., and it continues its homestand with a non-league match against Albright on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m.
The Mighty Macs then begins a string that has them on the road for five of their next six matches, beginning at Neumann (Sept. 11). IU then plays at Alvernia on Sept. 13 before returning home on Wednesday, Sept. 15 to challenge 2009 CSAC champion and NCAA Tournament participant, Gwynedd-Mercy.
IU concludes the stretch at Penn State Harrisburg (Sept. 18), Lancaster Bible (Sept. 21) and Cedar Crest (Sept. 23).
The Mighty Macs then return home for their longest homestand of the season as Cabrini ushers in the stretch on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 12 p.m. Immaculata breaks from league play for one match as it hosts Arcadia on Monday, Sept. 27, at 3:30 p.m. IU ends the homestand against the College of Notre Dame on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 3:30 p.m.
Immaculata hits the road for its final two away matches at Philadelphia Biblical on Oct. 2 and Rosemont on Oct. 5. IU plays its final CSAC match on Saturday, Oct. 9 when it hosts Keystone at 12 p.m., and Penn State Berks in the regular-season finale on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 3:30 p.m.
The top four teams in the conference qualify for the CSAC Team Championship held Oct. 22-23 at The HealthPlex in Springfield, Pa.
