IMMACULATA, Pa. – Eight home games will highlight Immaculata's 2010 men's soccer schedule, which was released by first-year head coach Adrian Cox. The Mighty Macs' make their debut on Wed., Sept. 1 when Immaculata travels to Rowan in the 2010 season opener.
The Mighty Macs open at home on Sept. 15 against Penn State Harrisburg. In addition to the Nittany Lions, Immaculata will host Elizabethtown and Penn State Abington, along with its five-match home conference slate.
In all, Immaculata will play a total of 19 contests, including nine against Colonial States Athletic Conference teams. Three of IU's 2010 opponents reached the NCAA Division III Tournament, including CSAC champion Cabrini. Swarthmore and Misericordia also reached the national tournament in 2009.
Following its season-opening match against Rowan, Immaculata embarks on a four-game road trip. The stretch begins with a neutral-site encounter with Widener on Saturday, Sept. 4 at the Swarthmore Invitational. The Mighty Macs then play the host Garnet on Sunday, Sept. 5.
After the tournament, Immaculata caps the swing with road dates at Albright (Sept. 8) and Misericordia (Sept. 11), before returning home on Wednesday, Sept. 15 for its home opener against Penn State Harrisburg.
Immaculata takes to the road for the final time during the month of September on Saturday, Sept. 18 traveling to Delaware Valley. Immaculata caps the month hosting Elizabethtown (Sept. 25) and Penn State Abington (Sept.29) as part of a three-game homestand.
The Mighty Macs begin the month of October ushering in the CSAC schedule against Neumann on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Draper Walsh Stadium. Immaculata continues its string of league play with matches on the road against Philadelphia Biblical (Oct. 5) and Baptist Bible (Oct. 9) before returning home on Saturday, Oct. 16, hosting Marywood.
Immaculata wraps up its non-league schedule visiting Penn State Berks on Oct. 18.
Following its date with the Nittany Lions, the Mighty Macs play five straight CSAC matches to close out the 2010 regular season. Immaculata hosts Gwynedd-Mercy on Wednesday, Oct. 20, before hitting the road for a tilt with Keystone on Oct. 23.
Immaculata rounds out its home schedule against 2009 CSAC champion Cabrini on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and Rosemont on Thursday, Oct. 28, before visiting Centenary on Oct. 30 for its regular-season finale.
The 2010 CSAC Championship will get underway with quarterfinal games at campus sites on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
