Five Immaculata Softball Players Named All-League

ASTON, Pa. – Five Immaculata University softball players were tabbed with all-conference recognition by the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) on Tuesday afternoon. Mindy Monastra, Carol Mastrosante and Julia Lamplugh each placed on the second team while Sara Holleran and Nikki Curcione were honorable mention picks.

Immaculata (17-16) finished the regular season with a 14-8 league mark, earning the fifth seed in the conference tournament. The Mighty Macs travel to third seed Marywood University on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. for a single game.

Monastra, making her initial appearance on the all-league team at second base, hit .324 in 108 at-bats. She collected 35 hits, including 10 doubles, two triples and six home runs. She also posted 33 RBI and a team-high .626 slugging percentage.  She tied for third in the league in home runs and placed fifth in RBI.

Mastrosante, a former first team selection two years ago, was second on the team in hitting with a .378 average. She tied for fourth on the team with 28 hits, including five doubles and a home run.

Lamplugh led the team with a .406 batting average. The first-time all-league selection in the outfield had seven doubles, a home run and authored a .551 slugging percentage. She scored 20 runs and banged out 28 hits.

Holleran hit .333 and ranked third on the team with 30 hits. She registered a .455 on-base percentage, scored 17 runs, hit three doubles and two home runs. Defensively, the first baseman made just seven errors in 218 chances for a .968 fielding percentage.  

Curcione was 9-8, including 8-3 in CSAC play, with a 4.39 ERA in 18 appearances. She started 17 games and completed 14 with one shutout and one save. She led the team with 97.1 innings pitched and struck out a team-high 66 batters while walking just 27.

Senior Shana Kehoe was selected as the CSAC Sportsmanship Award recipient. Kehoe played in 19 games and started 12 this past season. She had four hits in 19 at-bats, drove in two runs and scored six.
