IMMACULATA, Pa. – Robert Siter scored 18 points to lead four different players in double figures as Immaculata delivered a 75-58 victory over visiting Philadelphia Biblical in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) men’s basketball contest Tuesday night inside Alumnae Hall.
Immaculata (11-8, 9-3 CSAC) went on a 20-8 run over the final 10 minutes of the first half, enabling the hosts to jump out to a 15-point lead at the break over Philadelphia Biblical (5-13, 3-9).
The Mighty Macs connected on 14 of their 32 shots (.438) during the opening stanza, including 4-for-8 from three-point land, while the Crimson Eagles were 11 of 27 (.407) from the field with just one three. Immaculata was able to capitalize on Philadelphia Biblical’s 10 turnovers during the opening half for 14 points, while the Mighty Macs turned the ball over six times that led to just two points for the Crimson Eagles.
After Immaculata pushed its lead to its largest margin (23) of the night, 55-32, with 12:29 remaining in the contest, Philadelphia Biblical eventually closed to within 13 (59-46) with just under eight minutes to go in the game on a 14-4 spurt. However, a three-pointer from Siter pushed the lead back to 16, and the margin would not get any closer the rest of the way.
John Boyd finished with 14 points and three assists, and Nelson Torres had 12 points and a team-best eight rebounds to go along with his three assists. Eric Barefield posted 10 points and a team-leading four assists. Siter added six rebounds, a game-high four steals and three assists to his 18 points.
Willie Miller led all Crimson Eagles scorers with 17 points and dished out five assists. Ben Fuller also finished in double digits for PBU with 12 points while Charles Kennedy grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
Philadelphia Biblical ended the contest 27 of 54 from the field (.500) after being on fire during the second half, hitting 16 of 27 (.593). The Crimson Eagles struggled from the foul line throughout the contest and finished just 2-for-11 (.182) from the charity stripe.
Immaculata returns to the court on Saturday, Feb. 6 for a clash against Gwynedd-Mercy at 4 p.m. at Alumnae Hall.
