IMMACULATA, Pa. - Immaculata University unveiled its new multi-purpose training facility for the Mighty Macs' athletic teams on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at a dedication ceremony held at 3:00 p.m. outside the facility.
The Mighty Macs Training Facility, nestled between the softball field and Draper Walsh Stadium, will provide Immaculata athletics teams with a state-of-the-art indoor multi-purspose practice facility. The facility will house indoor batting cages for Immaculata's softball and baseball teams. The 14-foot high ceiling and retractable batting cage nets will also allow flexible use of the space for Immaculata's field hockey, soccer, and lacrosse programs. The inside of the facility features a fully covered turf floor.
The Immaculata University Mighty Macs compete at the Division III level of the NCAA in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). With the addition of baseball for the 2009-10 academic year, Immaculata now features 15 intercollegiate athletic teams, including basketball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, tennis, golf, cross country, volleyball and softball.
AUM Architecture, LLC, served as the design architects for the new facility.
