Alex Proctor

Alex Proctor enters his ninth season as Immaculata’s head men’s and women’s cross country coach in 2017. Proctor also serves as the Mighty Macs' head men's and women's track and field coach, and is entering his eighth season leading those squads in 2016-17.

The 2015 women's cross country season was a banner year for Immaculata as the Mighty Macs finished runner-up at the 2015 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship. Proctor was named the CSAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year as Immaculata equaled its best performance in a conference championship, and three Mighty Mac runners earned all-league status. Diana Cusick and Cayla Rimkis both were named First Team All-CSAC, as Cusick was the individual runner-up at the championship. Bridget Doherty earned Second Team All-CSAC.

The women's cross country team also racked up the 2015 CSAC 3-D Award, earned the CSAC Team Academic Award and honored as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Team.

The 2011 season marked a first for the Immaculata men's cross country program as the squad earned a program-best fourth-place finish out of nine teams at the 2011 Colonial States Athletic Conference Championships.  In 2014, the men's team repeated the fourth place finish to equal the program-best, and for the first time in program history, the Mighty Macs had a male individual champion as Angel Chimal Rodriguez took home first place with a time of 26:19.

As a team, Immaculata placed 34th at the NCAA Mideast Regional and Rodriguez earned All-Region recognition.

The Mighty Macs repeated their fourth-place finish at the 2015 CSAC Championship, and Rodriguez was the conference runner-up. Immaculata also earned the 2015 CSAC 3-D Award in men's cross country.

The 2013 campaign was another first for the men's cross country program as Angel Chimal Rodriguez and Stash Grab both earned First Team All-CSAC honors. It marked the first time that an Immaculata men's cross country runner had received first team accolades from the conference.  In 2014, Rodriguez repeated the feat and was joined by Bobby Rimkis on the First Team All-CSAC.

Proctor had previously mentored a Second Team All-CSAC performer for three consecutive seasons. Rodriguez was the latest Immaculata earned a spot on the all-conference team in 2012, while Grab earned Second Team All-CSAC honors for the second-straight season during 2011.  Will Martin earned Second Team All-CSAC in 2014.

The men's squad earned the Colonial States Athletic Conference's (CSAC) inaugural 3-D Award during the 2011 season. The award honors the team from each sport who best exemplifies the NCAA Division-III principles of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate."  The women's team then repeated the feat in 2014 as they took home the 3-D Award from the CSAC.

Immaculata women's cross country team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Team honors for the third-straight season in 2014 and the men also garnered recogntion for the first time in 2014.

On the course, the women's team notched their highest finish in program history in 2014 in third place and sophomore Diana Cusick earned Second Team All-CSAC for her performance.  The team then went on to finish 38th in the NCAA Mideast Regional.

Proctor helped to organize the 2009 CSAC Fall Festival, which saw Immaculata play host to the conference's men's and women's cross country championship.

Proctor was also active in beginning the Mighty Macs' track and field program during the 2010-11 season, and is the only head coach the program has known.  At the start of the 2015-16 season, Proctor guided the Mighty Macs as outdoor track & field was added to the list of Colonial States Athletic Conference-sponsored sports.  With that, he helped the Mighty Mac women to a fourth place finish and the men to a fifth place finish in the first ever CSAC Championships in 2016.

In 2017, the women placed sixth and the men were seventh at the CSAC Championships.

Proctor has seen both the men's and women's programs expand greatly during his seven seasons with both squads experiencing success in a limited amount of time. During the indoor season, two individuals from the men's track and field team have claimed a total of seven victories as three of those wins have come in the 800-meter race, one in the 1-mile, one in the 1,500-meter, one in the 5,000-meter and one in the triple jump. Through the 2016 campaign, the Mighty Macs women's squad have grabbed several top-five individual finishes and also have an three individual first places to their credit with two in the 800-meter and one in the one-mile.

In six years, the outdoor men’s track & field squad has already claimed 25 individual event titles to establish a strong start to the program’s history, and finished third in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Invitational at the end of the season in both 2014 and 2015. Proctor has also helped mentor two athletes into the top-50 nationally in their individual events of the 5,000 meter and the javelin throw. The women's outdoor team has claimed 11 individual first-place finishes and narrowly missed out on winning the 2015 CSAC Invitational when they finished in a close third place.

Prior to his arrival at Immaculata, Proctor served as an assistant varsity track and field coach at West Chester’s Henderson High School. Proctor also volunteers at the Chester County Kids Running Club, which promotes the benefits of running and physical fitness to elementary-aged children.

Proctor earned a bachelor’s degree in History from West Chester University in 2008. While at WCU, he was a four-year member of both the cross country and track and field teams.

Proctor works at Immaculata University in Residence Life and Housing.
